Recently, in 2005, Havel Designs performed engineering and construction services for Hampton Affiliates Willamina Lumber mill in Willamina, OR. For those of you not familiar will lumber mill technologies, it is an interesting fact that Willamina Lumber is the highest producing lumber mill in the USA, so that they don’t take changes to their phenomenal mill(s) lightly. Havel Designs undertook a project for mechanisms that were designed to speed log through-put by better control and efficiency of their existing machinery. The project was completed on schedule, under budget and worked right out of the gate; producing a nearly 20% throughput increase. These are probably unheard of results at this level of complexity.
